Only 18 overs were possible on the third day up at the Emirates Durham ICG, due to the weather. Durham pushed on adding a further 52 runs to their lead, and Harris took the wicket of Stoneman for 50.
It was a difficult day for Middlesex up at Durham, and a delayed start followed by several rain delays throughout the day didn’t help them batsmen as Middlesex resumed on Day 2 on 11-2. When Middlesex were 35-5 in the 26th over there was talk of the follow-on, but Simpson (42) and Dexter (52) added 68 runs in 16 overs for the 6th wicket. Berg was out soon after Simpson with the score on 119, but Harris joined Dexter & they steadied again
Day 2 of the LV= Championship match at Horsham, Sussex complete an emphatic innings and 116 run victory over Somerset with the action being wrapped up at 14:35. Steve Magoffin posted career best figures of 12-31 in an exemplary display of quality seam bowling to see Sussex go top of LV= Division 1 by 7 points.
Middlesex won the toss up at the Emirates Durham ICG and chose to bowl first. Despite an early wicket from Collymore, Durham saw out the rest of the first session & went into lunch on 100-1. A dropped catch by Robson gave Durham 5 penalty runs as the ball rolled onto a discarded helmet
An incredible day at Horsham as 19 wickets fell on Day One of Sussex’s LV=County Championship Division One clash with Somerset at The Horsham Sports Club. Steve Magoffin’s magical figures of 8 for 20 helped bundle Somerset out for only 76 before Sussex closed on 298 for 9.
